Andrew Buchanan, Director, Westbury Media Consultants Ltd

Andrew has a wide variety of experience in theatre, feature films and television, working on film, on tape and in 70mm IMAX. Initially a drama Location Manager, he joined the BBC Natural History Unit, and managed 'The Living Planet,' the second part of David Attenborough's great trilogy. In 1991 he became the first full-time member of the Natural History Unit's commercial arm, BBC Wildvision.

In 1993 Andrew moved to Partridge Films to work on the development and production of wildlife films for a wide variety of markets. After the merger of Partridge Films with Survival to form United Wildlife, he became Head of Development. Andrew then became Deputy Head of Granada Wild. While there he made popular wildlife series for international viewers such as the highly successful 'Toyota World of Wildlife', 'K9 Boot Camp', ‘Built for the Kill’ and ‘Wild Sex’.

After leaving Granada he returned to being a freelance and continues to executive produce wildlife series for major international TV channels. He also mentors European documentary filmmakers and works with The Engine Room to develop media skills in Somerset.
